Predictions for the Brit Awards →
Great piece from one of my ever-witty colleagues: So did you see the big news the other day? One humble figure stood in front of an awaiting audience who were experiencing a whole concoction of emotions due to the pure expectation weighted on the words to be spoken with such passion and vigour from the now voice of a generation. Yes, Fearne Cotton announced the Brit Awards nominations last...

PARTICIPATE IN MY SOCIAL EXPERIMENT
davidtrawin says: This is an experiment on SNAP decision making.  Judgements you make in a quick time frame before you have a change to really think of it — the immediate gut reaction you get from something. Here’s how it goes:  Listen to THIS song and reblog with the first 3 words you think about.  It could be anything it remeinds you of, emotions, places, people - whatever. The Key is not to...

Download the new Groove Armada tracks →
Really interested in this new spin on music promotion by the dance act.  Yet to see how well it’ll work, and I’m not sure it’s the most user-friendly implementation, but it’s pretty cool nonetheless.  (The link above takes you to a page where you can download the first track “from me”). The BBC sez: The first track is available to download for free from the...

I've started a politics "linkblog". →
Silly little side-project I thought would be fun, that also scratches the itch I’ve had for a while of wanting to use Google Reader’s “shared items” feature for something. I’m quite into politics, but don’t want to bore all my Tumblr friend with looooads of links (and my inane two-sentence commentary on each one), especially when so many on Tumblr are USA-based...

It’s time to end the work experience scam →
The Independent’s Johann Hari: When you get to work today, will your coffee be fetched by an unpaid intern? Have you wrangled a work experience placement for your own child? Does your business rest on this bottom-layer of the unpaid and unmerited? Then you are part of a scam – one that disfigures and damages Britain. Well written and argued as ever, but not sure I agree.  There’s...

Just added Disqus commenting to my tumblelog
I know it’s not completely within the spirit of tumblelogging, and Tumblr’s reblog feature is often better than onsite commenting, but I like fiddling around with these things :-)  Also allows non-Tumblr folks to make their opinion known. Y’know, democracy an’ that.

WANT*
My Tumblr “liked” items to appear in my FriendFeed stream. Or even gimme an RSS feed so I can plug it in myself. A Tumblr dashboard tab that shows me my “liked” items so I can refer back to them later. I’m sure such things are in the works, but just putting it out there… (* in a very polite, “please may I have, Sir” kinda way)

…so feel free to follow me there :-) Web 2.0 tart that I am, I have of course played around with FriendFeed before, but have always resisted signing up properly as I thought it’d probably be aggregation and information overload.  I participate in too many social media thingies as it as, and thought FF might be a bridge too far.  And I still think it is really, for my purposes...

Burger King releases Facebook app →
The fast-food chain has released the Whopper Sacrifice application on Facebook. The app rewards people with a coupon for BK’s signature burger when they cull 10 friends.
