Marco says:  “Nobody ever eats the last piece of cake at office birthdays”.The same happens with a large bowl of chips (the Brit kind, ie. fat fries) when shared amongst mates in the pub.  There is always one left over.  We’ve christened it “the polite chip”, as no one wants to be seen to be the evil-doer that finished off the snack with complete disregard for others’ hunger.
