Advertisements
The more eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that I recently added Google Adsense to this site’s permalink pages. This is likely to be the first in a number of advertising-related experiments.
To explain, let me paraphrase über-blogger Anil Dash on the topic of Adsense:
I’ve had friends ask why I have advertising on my site. After all, it’s not like I’m gonna pay the rent with the kind of traffic that a [tumblelog] drives. Usually, I explain that I just like to understand how that stuff works, to keep up to date with the customers I deal with at work, or just because of curiosity.
So no, I’m not that starved for a few extra pennies, and no, I’m not that arrogant that I think the various brainfarts, non-sequiturs and miscellaneous thoughts on this site are so profound that they merit financial remuneration. I just like fiddling about with techy-media-stuff. :-)
