Rat fact!
Found this pretty interesting: apparently, the rat is the only animal that the SAS (UK equivalent of the Green Berets) are banned from eating under any circumstances.
No matter how starving hungry a solder may be, no matter how down-trodden and wounded from serving his country, rats are just too plague-ridden to be consumed by humans. Although I’ve gotta admit, you’d have to be pretty pissed off - even by warfare standards of pissed-off-ness - to want to eat one of them things.
